With a little luck, Sendieira's Sebastião Carmona got control of the ball when Nuno Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Delfim Aires fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Budens's protests and gave Delfim Aires a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes SC Budens got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Aires. After having played for 15 minutes, Nivaldo Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sendieira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nivaldo Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Nivaldo Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sendieira's supporters rose to their feet, but Nivaldo Mendes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilídio Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sendieira's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Maurício Ramires 22 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Sebastião Carmona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurício Ramires, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Sendieira's defense didn't have a chance, in the 32nd minute, when Maurício Ramires scored to the left of an out of position Sebastião Carmona, making the score, 2-0. Bernardo Mourato hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Maurício Ramires made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sálvio Queiroga got free with Ilídio Guimarães in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomás Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 played minutes Sendieira got a freekick which was hit by Israel Moutinho. Sálvio Queiroga came free with the goalkeeper in the 59th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ilídio Guimarães could save by the left post. Ilídio Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nivaldo Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Maurício Ramires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tomás Teles came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the SC Budens fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Teles couldn't finish the play. After having played for 92 minutes, Maurício Ramires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Budens's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurício Ramires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sebastião Carmona came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Budens's Maurício Ramires. But to his dismay, Maurício Ramires quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Sendieira's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
