Sebastião Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Ferraz having to interfere. Rui Setúbal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. António Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute Sebastião Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Paredes in the 19th minute of play forced Amiozinho FC's goalkeeper José Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Dantas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvestre Menezes in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, Amiozinho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Gueifão to maneuver through the defense. Lázaro Candeias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but António Dantas made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Paredes in the 30th minute of play forced Amiozinho FC's goalkeeper José Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lázaro Candeias kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. José Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Paredes in the 32nd minute of play. Rui Setúbal charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rui Setúbal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 33rd match minute, Amiozinho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Setúbal to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Diamantino Paredes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Ferraz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Rodrigo Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Ferraz having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Gueifão in the 48th minute of play forced Amiozinho FC's goalkeeper José Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Caneiro FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diamantino Paredes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Amiozinho FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gaspar Fonseca was slow to take the kick. During this time Caneiro FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Gaspar Fonseca almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Amiozinho FC's José Ferraz did a great save. In the 61st minute, Sebastião Gueifão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. António Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murilo Gueifão, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Caneiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Silvestre Menezes came free, but António Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute Murilo Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Caneiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Silvestre Menezes came free, but António Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Silvestre Menezes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amiozinho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvestre Menezes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Dantas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sebastião Gueifão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Murilo Gueifão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but António Dantas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Diamantino Paredes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of José Ferraz, 0-2. In the 98th match minute, Caneiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Pinho to maneuver through the defense. If Silvestre Menezes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Caneiro FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Caneiro FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
