Urgeiro FC's André Paião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Maia in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th match minute, Urgeiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Ornelas to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Urgeiro FC's zone, Afonso Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Paião came out of the goal and Afonso Faria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If André Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aldo Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. If André Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Eduardo Domingues managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Urgeiro FC's Gervásio Pinto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 27th minute Afonso Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Paião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Netos booed when Urgeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Peseiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Netos's zone, Gervásio Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Domingues came out of the goal and Gervásio Pinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the game, Netos's André Maia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. André Paião made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. André Paião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when André Maia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabino Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 54 played minutes Netos got a freekick which was hit by Fábio Vale. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Urgeiro FC's goalkeeper André Paião, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Netos booed when Urgeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Peseiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Afonso Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Maia in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg André Paião saved Urgeiro FC from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, Sabino Antunes notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Netos's Eduardo Domingues. Eduardo Domingues was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 76 minutes, André Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netos's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Maia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Afonso Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Faria got in the 86th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but André Paião handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Afonso Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Paião having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Cristiano Pinto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of André Paião, 2-2. Despite being the better team, Netos failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
