After having played for 4 minutes, Leonel Gentil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Santao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Gentil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Bacelar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Jaime Trindade notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of SC Carcavelos's Sandro Simões. Sandro Simões was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Emanuel Bacelar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vítor Reis came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SC Carcavelos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Reis couldn't finish the play. Vítor Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Carcavelos booed when SC Santao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Espírito Santo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Magalhães in the 20th minute of play forced SC Santao's goalkeeper Emanuel Bacelar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, SC Carcavelos's Sandro Simões got control of the ball when Jaime Trindade tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vítor Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 minutes, Henrique Porto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Carcavelos and the SC Santao players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of SC Carcavelos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Santao:s goal. Sandro Simões had in the 36thth minute some difficulties stopping Jaime Nóbrega's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 41 minutes into the match, SC Carcavelos's Vítor Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Bacelar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leonel Gentil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 51 played minutes SC Santao got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Espírito Santo. Carlos Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to SC Santao getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Mário Ramalho hit a great ball. Sandro Simões came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Santao's Jaime Trindade. But to his dismay, Jaime Trindade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Trindade in the 63rd minute of play forced SC Carcavelos's goalkeeper Sandro Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonel Gentil in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandro Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 84 minutes into the match, SC Santao's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Reis came free, but Emanuel Bacelar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Reis in the 85th minute of play forced SC Santao's goalkeeper Emanuel Bacelar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, SC Santao's Emanuel Bacelar got control of the ball when Luís Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Leonel Gentil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Carcavelos's Vítor Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
