Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Angélico Magalhães started the match with the kick off. When Contriz's Baltasar Marques in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sporting CP's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 9 minutes, Baltasar Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Contriz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltasar Marques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselmo Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute Angélico Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Benevides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Sporting CP's Angélico Magalhães ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicolas Benevides. Nicolas Benevides yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Marques in the 23rd minute of play forced Sporting CP's goalkeeper Ivan Peralta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Contriz's Márcio Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40thth minute of the game Angélico Magalhães who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Contriz's Nicolas Benevides was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 43 minutes Contriz's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nicolas Morais who took care of the corner kick. In the 45th minute, Anselmo Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 47 played minutes Contriz got a freekick which was hit by Altino Colaço. 50 minutes into the match, Sporting CP's Angélico Magalhães sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicolas Benevides narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Sporting CP's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Márcio Rodrigues 54 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. After 62 played minutes Nicolas Morais shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Contriz's Nicolas Benevides to catch but Nicolas Morais was lucky. It became 2-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Márcio Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ivan Peralta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sporting CP's Bernardo Moura got a free kick in the 74th minute. Ivan Peralta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 played minutes Sporting CP got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Estrada. Sporting CP's Ivan Peralta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting CP from getting a goal against them. After 81 minutes, Raimundo Franco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Contriz and the Sporting CP players grew even worse after the yellow card. Contriz's Nicolas Benevides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angélico Magalhães in the 84th minute of play. Márcio Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Ivan Peralta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sporting CP getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Carlos Estrada hit a great ball. Márcio Rodrigues was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 92nd minute. Contriz's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Márcio Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 100th minute, Márcio Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Contriz's supporters rose to their feet, but Márcio Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Peralta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sporting CP fans cheered their team off the field, for while Contriz had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
