Mesquita FC's Celso Candal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Mourão in the 3rd minute of play. Horácio Sacadura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicolas Mourão kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. If Hermínio Damásio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute Hermínio Damásio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Candal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Tovim FC booed when Mesquita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro Cavaco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renato Casado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Isidro Cavaco fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mesquita FC's protests and gave Isidro Cavaco a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Mesquita FC got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Cavaco. After a rather tough play, Mesquita FC's Domingos Regalado got a free kick in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renato Casado in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celso Candal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Renato Casado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Diogo Gusmão put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Mesquita FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tovim FC:s goal. Renato Casado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Celso Candal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filinto Camargo made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Hermínio Damásio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celso Candal was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 63 minutes into the match, Tovim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Regalado came free, but Angelo Eanes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, Filinto Camargo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celso Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mesquita FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. António Horta was slow to take the kick. During this time Tovim FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in António Horta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mesquita FC's Celso Candal did a great save. Filinto Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Eanes having to interfere. Donato Lages kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Mesquita FC's goalkeeper Celso Candal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Renato Casado. If Domingos Regalado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mesquita FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Tovim FC for a fine match.
