André Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Morcheeba's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Magalhães came free, but André Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Guilheiro's goalkeeper Emanuel Ferreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Morcheeba's Duarte Lisboa got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mário Pedroso in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Jorge Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Morcheeba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Nunes couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mário Pedroso in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Ferreira saved Guilheiro from getting behind. André Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Morcheeba defense, Raul Fontes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Ferreira. The Morcheeba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Ferreira should have stopped the shot. Mário Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Duarte Lisboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
