PORTO's protests and gave Palmiro Mourão a yellow card for diving instead. Palmiro Mourão was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 53rd match minute, F. C. PORTO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Palmiro Mourão to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Machado might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Micael Lages. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The Rebelhos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. PORTO's zone, Delfim Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Micael Lages came out of the goal and Delfim Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fábio Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Maia in the 75th minute of play. F. C. PORTO's Micael Lages played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Machado in the 78th minute of play.
