Francisco Guerreiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. António Henriques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Mentrestido's Ricardo Figueiredo got a free kick in the 6th minute. If Vítor Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. António Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Moutinho in the 15th minute of play. If Vítor Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Morais didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristiano Nunes went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Vítor Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristiano Nunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Abel Morais made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Francisco Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Mentrestido's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Henriques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute, José Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd match minute, SC Mentrestido was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Marques to maneuver through the defense. If Francisco Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute Cristiano Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Morais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Fogueira fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Mentrestido had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
