A collision led to SC Ovelhinha getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Afonso Leiria hit a great ball. The throw-in from Emanuel Teixeira in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SC Ovelhinha's João Viana. Derek Hämmerling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 15 minutes, Ricardo Gaspar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Recoutas FC and the SC Ovelhinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. Filipe Correia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Heitor Correia went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Joel Aleixo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 26th minute, took the ball on the long shot from João Viana. When João Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Recoutas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Paiva couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute, SC Ovelhinha's Derek Hämmerling dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Recoutas FC's Joel Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Figueiredo in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Recoutas FC's zone, Derek Hämmerling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Aleixo came out of the goal and Derek Hämmerling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, SC Ovelhinha's Derek Hämmerling got a free kick in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Heitor Correia to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SC Ovelhinha booed when Recoutas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Moutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Derek Hämmerling made a precise shot to the right of Joel Aleixo. Recoutas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Caetano Magalhães took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joel Aleixo. Joel Aleixo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Afonso Leiria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Aleixo having to interfere. With a little luck, SC Ovelhinha's Filipe Correia got control of the ball when João Paiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. Recoutas FC's Joel Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Leiria in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, SC Ovelhinha's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Gaspar came free, but Filipe Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Aleixo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Correia in the 81st minute of play. Joel Aleixo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Derek Hämmerling, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Filipe Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heitor Correia in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute Heitor Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Afonso Leiria left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Ovelhinha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Filipe Correia made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when João Paiva sent off a good shot on target. There was no doubt that SC Ovelhinha were the better team. SC Ovelhinha's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
