With 10 minutes on the clock, Augusto Pinho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had been going on for 12 minutes, SC Alfornelos's Miguel Bessa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Heitor Amaral. In the 18th minute, Humberto Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, Moitense FC's goalkeeper Heitor Amaral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomás Ramos. Moitense FC's Heitor Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Moitense FC from getting a goal against them. When Olaf Bubczyk fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moitense FC's protests and gave Olaf Bubczyk a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Moitense FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Olaf Bubczyk hit a great ball. After 40 played minutes Moitense FC got a freekick which was hit by Valeri Chavdarov. In the 48thth minute of the game Cândido Coelho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Alfornelos's Fábio Assis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell António Viegas to make the kick off. António Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heitor Amaral having to interfere. In the 60th match minute, SC Alfornelos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. Gabriel Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Ramos in the 68th minute of play forced Moitense FC's goalkeeper Heitor Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moitense FC's Olaf Bubczyk got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Moitense FC booed when SC Alfornelos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olaf Bubczyk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Fábio Assis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fábio Assis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cândido Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Olaf Bubczyk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Alfornelos's goalkeeper Fábio Assis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Moitense FC's Sérgio Neto was substituted for Valeri Chavdarov. Moitense FC's Cândido Torres quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Daniel Porto, made in the 87th minute of the game. Fábio Assis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cândido Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. If Olaf Bubczyk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
