Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 6th minute, Joaquim Gueifão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélder Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Bernardo Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hélder Assunção recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hélder Assunção's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bernardo Borges firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 20 played minutes Lovelhe got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Gueifão. Filipe Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Bernardo Borges made a huge save. 22 minutes into the match, Lovelhe's goalkeeper Bernardo Borges had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélder Assunção. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Bessa in the 24th minute of play forced Samel FC's goalkeeper Vítor Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gabriel Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samel FC's Vítor Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Garcia in the 31st minute of play. If Simão Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Carlos Paredes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute of the match Bento Dias shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vítor Paredes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Lovelhe booed when Samel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Amaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simão Garcia struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Vítor Paredes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lovelhe. 44 minutes into the match, Samel FC's Filipe Nascimento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Borges narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bernardo Borges made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Hélder Assunção sent off a good shot on target. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filipe Nascimento to make the kick off. If Simão Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th match minute, Samel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Campos to maneuver through the defense. Simão Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Filipe Nascimento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardo Borges having to make a save. Bernardo Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Assunção in the 75th minute of play. Carlos Paredes's late challenge caught a Lovelhe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Paredes helped the player get up and apologised. Carlos Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Simão Garcia struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Vítor Paredes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lovelhe. After a defensive mix-up in Samel FC's zone, Simão Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Paredes came out of the goal and Simão Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 83 minutes into the game, Joaquim Gueifão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lovelhe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Samel FC the free kick. In the 83rd match minute, Lovelhe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Gueifão to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the match, Lovelhe's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Assunção came free, but Bernardo Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Bessa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute Filipe Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filipe Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Bernardo Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lovelhe players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Samel FC.
