Alfredo Igrejas made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Xavier Nogueira sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Pecene's Bruno Dantas got a free kick in the 5th minute. Alfredo Igrejas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingos Valente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Domingos Valente fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alfredo Igrejas, passed just outside the right post. Pecene's Alfredo Igrejas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Pecene from getting a goal against them. Xavier Nogueiras short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Alfredo Igrejas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Verdelho's Xavier Nogueira, in the 14th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Verdelho. A collision led to Verdelho getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. António Cunha hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domingos Valente in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Igrejas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Abel Nogueira hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Domingos Valente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Igrejas having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Salgueiro in the 39th minute of play forced Verdelho's goalkeeper Sandro Moniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sandro Moniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Varanda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xavier Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Igrejas having to interfere. José Vale might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredo Igrejas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Vale ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ricardo Salgueiro was the one to do the kick off. If Mário Varanda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandro Moniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Salgueiro in the 58th minute of play. Verdelho's Domingos Valente got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Xavier Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bruno Dantas fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pecene's protests and gave Bruno Dantas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th minute, Bruno Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mário Varanda came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sandro Moniz could save by the left post. If Mário Varanda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Verdelho's António Cunha got a free kick in the 79th minute. A collision led to Pecene getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Bruno Dantas hit a great ball. Xavier Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Igrejas having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pecene's Mário Varanda got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After having played for 94 minutes, Xavier Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verdelho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xavier Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Pecene players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
