The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gaspar Monteiro made a great header on Ganilhos's corner, it was just that Argomil FC's Emílio Antunes managed to reach the ball for a save. Gaspar Monteiro charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaspar Monteiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ganilhos getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Gaspar Monteiro hit a great ball. Emílio Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Nogueira in the 25th minute of the match. Armindo Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cândido Cunha having to interfere. Emílio Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Armindo Figueiredo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute, Henrique Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cândido Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armindo Figueiredo in the 54th minute of the match. Emílio Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heitor Abreu in the 56th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Argomil FC's Daniel Baptista got a free kick in the 57th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Heitor Abreu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emílio Antunes. That made the score 0-1 in the 58 minute of play. Argomil FC's Emílio Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Argomil FC from getting a goal against them. Sandro Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Antunes having to interfere. Rui Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Xavier Guerreiro fired a really elegant long shot, but Emílio Antunes threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Heitor Abreu in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emílio Antunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sandro Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Emílio Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusébio Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cândido Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. 73 minutes into the game, Xavier Guerreiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ganilhos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Argomil FC the free kick. In the 74th minute, Xavier Guerreiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 played minutes, Argomil FC's Domingos Rodrigues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cândido Cunha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Argomil FC reached it. The supporters of Ganilhos booed when Argomil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Heitor Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 85 minutes, Heitor Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ganilhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heitor Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Setúbal in the 89th minute of play forced Argomil FC's goalkeeper Emílio Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute, Eusébio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eusébio Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cândido Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ganilhos had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
