The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the game, Mariano Aguiar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bento Marques. Mariano Aguiar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Diamantino Oliveira hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the match, ADC SANTA ISABEL's Mariano Aguiar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bento Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Inácio Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simão Aleixo during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Sarriao FC's zone, Mariano Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bento Marques came out of the goal and Mariano Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Sarriao FC's Simão Aleixo got a free kick in the 24th minute. After 26 played minutes Sarriao FC got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Magalhães. If Bruno Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sarriao FC's Bento Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Aguiar in the 39th minute of play. Mariano Aguiar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Bento Marques when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Aguiar was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Costa in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Domingos Moreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The long shot by Viriato Borba in the 55th minute really tested Domingos Moreira's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. António Mota kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Bruno Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the game, ADC SANTA ISABEL's Inácio Paiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bento Marques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Sarriao FC's Vítor Costa got a free kick in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Aguiar in the 67th minute of play forced Sarriao FC's goalkeeper Bento Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 minutes, Basílio Magalhães mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarriao FC and the ADC SANTA ISABEL players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ADC SANTA ISABEL booed when Sarriao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 played minutes Sarriao FC got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Costa. The audience was convinced that Mariano Aguiar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bento Marques was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. ADC SANTA ISABEL walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
