Nuno Tomé fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Menezes having to interfere. Paulo Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cavalinhos booed when SC Milhais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Palha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Menezes having to interfere. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cavalinhos's goalkeeper Bernardo Menezes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cavalinhos's goalkeeper Bernardo Menezes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 25th minute Miguel Palha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Menezes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nuno Tomé had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Tomé could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Bernardo Menezes made a huge save. After some careless play in the Cavalinhos defense, Nuno Tomé kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Menezes. The Cavalinhos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Menezes should have stopped the shot. SC Milhais's Miguel Palha got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Miguel Palha made the kick off in the second half. Miguel Palha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Bernardo Menezes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo Menezes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Palha in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Nuno Tomé left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Milhais fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Josué Souto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Sales in the 68th minute. Bernardo Menezes came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Milhais's Miguel Palha. But to his dismay, Miguel Palha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The long shot by Ricardo Lameirinhas in the 74th minute really tested Josué Souto's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Tomás Sales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Tomé received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Bernardo Menezes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilson Carvalhal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 88 minutes, Humberto Martins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Milhais and the Cavalinhos players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cavalinhos booed when SC Milhais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo Santiago tried in the 90th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Josué Souto a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Palha in the 96th minute of play forced Cavalinhos's goalkeeper Bernardo Menezes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Milhais fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cavalinhos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
