When Valdemar Diegues fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paris Saint Germeny's protests and gave Valdemar Diegues a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes Paris Saint Germeny got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Diegues. 17 minutes into the match, Paris Saint Germeny's goalkeeper Elias Manso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mauro Leitão. After 20 played minutes Aroeiras got a freekick which was hit by Horácio Paredes. Elias Manso made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Mauro Leitão sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paris Saint Germeny's goalkeeper Elias Manso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, Antero Pegado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aroeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paris Saint Germeny the free kick. After a rather tough play, Aroeiras's Antero Pegado got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 36th match minute, Paris Saint Germeny was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Castilho to maneuver through the defense. Antero Pegado got in the 37th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Elias Manso and thus it was 1-0. Horácio Paredes charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Horácio Paredes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Aroeiras's Horácio Paredes got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute Horácio Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Manso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Rebocho in the 45th minute of play forced Aroeiras's goalkeeper Sandro Leitão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Duarte Rebocho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

53 minutes into the match, Paris Saint Germeny's goal looked a bit too open when Horácio Paredes came free, but Elias Manso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Aroeiras's Sandro Leitão got control of the ball when Duarte Rebocho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paris Saint Germeny's Valdemar Diegues got his second yellow card of the match in the 57th minute. The referee ordered Valdemar Diegues off the ground. If Duarte Rebocho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 played minutes Paris Saint Germeny got a freekick which was hit by Juliano Torcato. The audience thought a goal was coming when Duarte Rebocho got free with Sandro Leitão in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute, Juliano Torcato got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 78 minutes into the game, Duarte Rebocho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Sandro Leitão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 82nd minute, Altino Passos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Duarte Rebocho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Sandro Leitão made a huge save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
