Silvano Rangel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 7th minute, Gaspar Ferro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lúcio Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antero Lencastre in the 10th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Lúcio Antunes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Silvano Rangel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Lúcio Antunes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Telmo Tavares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ksawery Zaremba's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Silvano Rangel notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of FC Rivals's Lúcio Antunes. Lúcio Antunes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Adolfo Horta came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lúcio Antunes could save by the left post. Lúcio Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antero Lencastre, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Adolfo Horta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Lúcio Antunes made a huge save. Lúcio Antunes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvano Rangel in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the match, FC Rivals's goal looked a bit too open when Antero Lencastre came free, but Lúcio Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Rivals's Lúcio Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save FC Rivals from getting a goal against them. FC Rivals's Lúcio Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilídio Teixeira in the 46th minute of play. With an all-out effort, SC Preladas's Lúcio Antunes threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Antero Lencastre, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Abel Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Telmo Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delfim Quadros hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, FC Rivals's Rogério Marques got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Telmo Tavares made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Abel Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. Lúcio Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ilídio Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvano Rangel in the 71st minute of play forced FC Rivals's goalkeeper Lúcio Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abel Nascimento got free with Telmo Tavares in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute Silvano Rangel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 minutes, Álvaro Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Rivals and the SC Preladas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Álvaro Garcia hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, FC Rivals's goal looked a bit too open when Antero Lencastre came free, but Lúcio Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lúcio Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antero Lencastre in the 85th minute of the match. Abel Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute Antero Lencastre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SC Preladas had played much better football throughout.
