If Máximo Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 13th match minute, Derriada FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerónimo Figueiras to maneuver through the defense. Derriada FC's Vítor Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Vilhena in the 15th minute of play. Vladimiro Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carmoes FC's Vladimiro Leite got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomé Mota hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Derriada FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Pedro Vilhena scored to the left of an out of position Vítor Montenegro, making the score, 1-0. When Pedro Vilhena came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Carmoes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Vilhena couldn't finish the play. When Sérgio Borba fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Derriada FC's protests and gave Sérgio Borba a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Derriada FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Sérgio Borba hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Carmoes FC's zone, Almiro Avelar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murilo Porto came out of the goal and Almiro Avelar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Carmoes FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Jorge Caneira hit a great ball. Derriada FC's Vítor Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimiro Leite in the 32nd minute of play. Máximo Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 40th minute Pedro Vilhena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Almiro Avelar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derriada FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Almiro Avelar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murilo Porto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Almiro Avelar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murilo Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Máximo Moniz in the 47th minute of play. The supporters of Derriada FC booed when Carmoes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomé Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 61 minutes, Máximo Moniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derriada FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Máximo Moniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vítor Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Vilhena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the game, Máximo Moniz lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Murilo Porto. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Vilhena in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vítor Montenegro saved Derriada FC from getting behind. 75 minutes into the match, Derriada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Vilhena came free, but Vítor Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Vilhena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Vladimiro Leite came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Carmoes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimiro Leite couldn't finish the play. Almiro Avelar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Murilo Porto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 91st minute Pedro Vilhena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pedro Vilhena came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Carmoes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Vilhena couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Carmoes FC's Murilo Porto got control of the ball when Almiro Avelar tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 99th minute, Máximo Moniz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Derriada FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The Carmoes FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Derriada FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Derriada FC.
