Moisés Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Pinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Mendonça in the 7th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Zarco Lameirinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Cerqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damião Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damião Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Figueiredo getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Damião Vidal hit a great ball. After 14 played minutes, Anceriz's Artur Velasques shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Cerqueira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Anceriz reached it. In the 17th of the match, Zarco Lameirinhas tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but José Cerqueira got in the way and made a wonderful save. 19 minutes into the game, Anceriz's Claudemiro Durães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Cerqueira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 22nd minute, Gonçalo Belo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anselmo Noronha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Pinto having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Mendonça in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Pinto saved Anceriz from getting behind. José Cerqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zarco Lameirinhas in the 27th minute of the match. Figueiredo's Fernando Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 minutes, Jorge Lobo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Anceriz and the Figueiredo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Anceriz got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Lobo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Mendonça in the 43rd minute of play forced Anceriz's goalkeeper Paulo Pinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselmo Noronha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zarco Lameirinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Figueiredo's goal looked a bit too open when Zarco Lameirinhas came free, but José Cerqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute, Zarco Lameirinhas made a precise shot to the right of José Cerqueira. Figueiredo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After having played for 60 minutes, Anselmo Noronha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Figueiredo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Noronha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselmo Noronha struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Paulo Pinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Figueiredo. Paulo Pinto made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Anselmo Noronha sent off a good shot on target. Fernando Mendonça blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Pinto having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zarco Lameirinhas in the 72nd minute of play forced Figueiredo's goalkeeper José Cerqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zarco Lameirinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 77 minutes into the match, Figueiredo's goal looked a bit too open when Zarco Lameirinhas came free, but José Cerqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anceriz's Paulo Pinto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Anceriz from getting a goal against them. Damião Vidal was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
