Artur Cabral might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amílcar Ramos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artur Cabral ran back to his position shaking his head. SC Alcorvel's Daniel Correia got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Eurico Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amílcar Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Cordeiro in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Eurico Cordeiro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Amílcar Ramos, passed just outside the right post. SC Alcorvel's Amílcar Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Cabral in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Alcorvel's David Carneiro got a free kick in the 27th minute. Filipe Valente kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Cordeiro in the 35th minute of play forced SC Alcorvel's goalkeeper Amílcar Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eurico Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute Rafael Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Rafael Gaspar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sandro Barbosa. SDVelez's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Daniel Correia scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sandro Barbosa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Correia to make the kick off. Filipe Valente's late challenge caught a SC Alcorvel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filipe Valente helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th minute, Filipe Valente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandro Barbosa made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Rafael Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. Sandro Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Eurico Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Amílcar Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79thth minute of the game Inácio Ferreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Alcorvel's Amílcar Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 82nd minute, Eurico Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, SC Alcorvel's David Carneiro got a free kick in the 85th minute. Eurico Cordeiro struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Amílcar Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SDVelez. If Inácio Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílcar Ramos having to interfere. The supporters of SC Alcorvel booed when SDVelez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandro Aleixo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
