Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Jorge Nogueira's late challenge caught a S.L.Benfica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Funchosa's Jorge Nogueira got a free kick in the 6th minute. With his leg Jorge Cruz managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when S.L.Benfica's Israel Madruga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Albertino Cabral took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gonçalo Paiva. Gonçalo Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a little luck, SC Funchosa's Jorge Cruz got control of the ball when Israel Madruga tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17thth minute of the game Albertino Cabral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.L.Benfica's Gonçalo Paiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.L.Benfica's goalkeeper Gonçalo Paiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 20 minutes of play, SC Funchosa's Albertino Cabral made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonçalo Paiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Armando Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jorge Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, S.L.Benfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Israel Madruga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Jorge Cruz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. S.L.Benfica's Armando Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to S.L.Benfica getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Porfírio Bernardes hit a great ball. Albertino Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorge Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juliano Araújo in the 45th minute of the match. Israel Madruga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

If Albertino Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gonçalo Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertino Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 64th minute, Jorge Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Albertino Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Eduardo Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonçalo Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertino Cabral in the 74th minute of the match. Nuno Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. S.L.Benfica's Gonçalo Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save S.L.Benfica from getting a goal against them. 85 minutes into the game, Nuno Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Gonçalo Paiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Albertino Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 99 minutes, Nuno Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Funchosa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Funchosa's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
