Hipólito Rangel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuno Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bruno Espírito Santo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Cabral in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Manuel Laureano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute Albertino Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Espírito Santo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albertino Cabral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Espírito Santo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Feiposa's zone, Albertino Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Espírito Santo came out of the goal and Albertino Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serafim Saldanha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Albertino Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Funchosa's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertino Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Espírito Santo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Serafim Saldanha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Cruz having to make a save. Nuno Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Espírito Santo having to interfere. In the 66th minute Albertino Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Espírito Santo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the game, Elias Carmo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Feiposa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Funchosa the free kick. The SC Funchosa fans cheered their team off the field, for while Feiposa had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
