When Vasco Santarém fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Donoes FC's protests and gave Vasco Santarém a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, Donoes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasco Santarém to maneuver through the defense. In the 10thth minute of the game Diamantino Branco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mondinense Sport Clube's Normando Carrasqueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. João Leão's late challenge caught a Mondinense Sport Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Leão helped the player get up and apologised. Normando Carrasqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diamantino Branco in the 17th minute of the match. Hugo Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Prates in the 24th minute of play. After some careless play in the Donoes FC defense, André Modesto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Ferro. The Donoes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Ferro should have stopped the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Donoes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Prates came free, but Hugo Ferro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes of play, Donoes FC's Miguel Vieira made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Normando Carrasqueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 41st match minute, Mondinense Sport Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Catarino Infante to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Artur Moutinho to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diamantino Branco got free with Normando Carrasqueira in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diamantino Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Normando Carrasqueira having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Donoes FC's zone, Josué Prates stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Ferro came out of the goal and Josué Prates tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur Moutinho in the 74th minute of play forced Mondinense Sport Clube's goalkeeper Normando Carrasqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donoes FC's Diamantino Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute Artur Moutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Normando Carrasqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mondinense Sport Clube booed when Donoes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasco Santarém didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Artur Moutinho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Normando Carrasqueira, 2-3. Josué Prates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Ferro having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Donoes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Leão to maneuver through the defense. The Donoes FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Donoes FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
