Abílio Meireles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 16th minute Aquilino Júdice shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romão Gueifão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th match minute, Finzes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Castanheira to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Cesário's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romão Gueifão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Finzes FC's Romão Gueifão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Finzes FC from getting a goal against them. Aquilino Júdice fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romão Gueifão having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rui Jesus in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abílio Meireles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th match minute, Assencada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Cesário sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aquilino Júdice received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Romão Gueifão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abílio Meireles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 72nd match minute, Finzes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélio Prestes to maneuver through the defense. Abílio Meireles had great luck who in the 79thth minute grab hold of the ball when Jesualdo Granja from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Hélio Prestes's late challenge caught a Assencada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Prestes helped the player get up and apologised. The Finzes FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Finzes FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
