The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nuno Paredes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Lúcio Barros made a huge save. In the 7th minute Adelino Setúbal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armindo Reis's late challenge caught a Bucaco FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armindo Reis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, Falagueiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armindo Reis to maneuver through the defense. After 13 played minutes, Bucaco FC's Raul Pinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Ferro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bucaco FC reached it. Lúcio Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Setúbal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Basílio Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute of the match Vasco Fonseca sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lúcio Barros skillfully saved the ball. José Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Machado in the 20th minute of play. Adelino Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Bucaco FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nuno Paredes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 28th minute, Adolfo Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st minute of the match Vicente Baptista sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Ferro skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Bucaco FC's Mariano Macedo got a free kick in the 34th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Falagueiro's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Amaral came free, but José Ferro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Amaral struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. José Ferro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bucaco FC. Miguel Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. José Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Amaral to make the kick off. Nuno Paredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Barros having to interfere. Falagueiro's Armindo Reis got his second yellow card of the match in the 57th minute. The referee ordered Armindo Reis off the ground. After 87 played minutes, Falagueiro's Joaquim Faro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lúcio Barros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Falagueiro reached it. Adolfo Machado took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Ferro. José Ferro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Falagueiro were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Bucaco FC for a fine match.
