In the 21st minute, Miguel Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Caxinas F.C's Gabriel Beltza got a free kick in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Tomás Leiria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nuno Cardoso's late challenge caught a Provesende FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Branco having to interfere.
