After a rather tough play, Roots's Marcos Severo got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Amadeu Brito took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paulo Malafaia. Roots's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alberto Trindade struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Paulo Malafaia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Penhascoso. Rogério Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Paulo Malafaia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Humberto lacerda kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Roots's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Trindade came free, but Paulo Malafaia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alberto Trindade came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SC Penhascoso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Trindade couldn't finish the play. The attack was good, but when Alberto Trindade in the 18th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Leonardo Valério received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jorge Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SC Penhascoso booed when Roots was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto lacerda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Malafaia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Trindade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogério Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Malafaia having to interfere. Nuno Quintas charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Quintas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nuno Quintas kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Paulo Malafaia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Trindade, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Alberto Trindade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Malafaia made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Rogério Nogueira sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes into the game, Rubim Viegas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jorge Amaro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jorge Amaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Valério in the 64th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Penhascoso's zone, Rubim Viegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Amaro came out of the goal and Rubim Viegas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonardo Valério sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rubim Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jorge Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80thth minute of the game Alberto Trindade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roots's Paulo Malafaia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paulo Malafaia stood somewhat misplaced when Rogério Nogueira came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 82 minute. Rogério Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Malafaia having to interfere. SC Penhascoso's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
