With his leg Heitor Brito managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Clube Futebol Os Coxos's Tamás Benke fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Emílio Domingues was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Palmeiras defense, Tamás Benke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Heitor Brito. The Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Heitor Brito should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Clube Futebol Os Coxos booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goalkeeper Heitor Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tamás Benke. The audience was convinced that Sérgio Leiria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emílio Domingues was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Tamás Benke in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Moura to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Moura came free, but Heitor Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Clube Futebol Os Coxos's Nuno Moura nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Heitor Brito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Carlos Pereira got a free kick in the 59th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Futebol Os Coxos's zone, Jorge Resende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emílio Domingues came out of the goal and Jorge Resende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Palmeiras's Sérgio Leiria slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Emílio Domingues. That made the score 4-2 after 68 minutes of play. The long shot by Gabriel Magalhães in the 72nd minute really tested Emílio Domingues's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastião Leiria during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
