The supporters of Brancanes FC booed when Dornes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Egídio Camacho hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Filinto Bettencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Marinho in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Octávio Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sílvio Marinho was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Egídio Camacho made a precise shot to the right of Angélico Espinosa. Dornes FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivan Ribeiro in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angélico Espinosa saved Dornes FC from getting behind. Angélico Espinosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romão Zambujal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angélico Espinosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romão Zambujal, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romão Zambujal in the 85th minute of play forced Dornes FC's goalkeeper Angélico Espinosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angélico Espinosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romão Zambujal, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 90 minutes of play, Brancanes FC's Romão Zambujal made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angélico Espinosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Dornes FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Octávio Curado hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Veríssimo Póvoas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brancanes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Veríssimo Póvoas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angélico Espinosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brancanes FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
