Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Valentim Sousa started the match with the kick off. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Rui Ramos put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Raimundo Moita. In the 15th minute, Vítor Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Miguel Saldanha from long distance, 16 minutes into the match, got Raimundo Moita's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Valentim Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the SC Penascosa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentim Sousa couldn't finish the play. In the 27th match minute, SC Mariz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duarte Leite to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, SC Mariz's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Guterres came free, but Luís Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Valentim Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Valentim Sousa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Penascosa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Luís Moreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Salvador Guterres's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Geraldo Ramires charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geraldo Ramires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Geraldo Ramires hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Mariz's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fernando Abreu was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Penascosa's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Alex Granja heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

51 minutes into the match, Elias Vidal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raimundo Moita. SC Penascosa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elias Vidal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. SC Mariz's Luís Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentim Sousa in the 55th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Rui Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentim Sousa in the 71st minute of play. Fernando Abreu's late challenge caught a SC Mariz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Abreu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 72nd minute, one of SC Penascosa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Penascosa. The referee gave SC Mariz a penalty, 75 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Miguel Saldanha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Penascosa's Raimundo Moita. 3-2. After 80 played minutes SC Penascosa got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Calçada. Rui Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Raimundo Moita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raimundo Moita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentim Sousa in the 91st minute of play. If Elias Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raimundo Moita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rui Ramos went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. SC Mariz's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
