Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alexandre Caeiro got the match started through his kick off. Duarte Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valter Arruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 5th minute, Valter Arruda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duarte Faria was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 8 minutes of play, SC Derriada's Valter Arruda made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Duarte Faria was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Rich Jeffress had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Melo hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, Américo Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Duarte Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Valério in the 24th minute of the match. Hugo Branco lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Ademar Cruz walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Diogo Quinaz came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the SC Derriada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diogo Quinaz couldn't finish the play. If Rich Jeffress had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th match minute, SC Derriada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Henriques to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rich Jeffress made a kick off. Duarte Faria made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Alexandre Caeiro sent off a good shot on target. Jarbas Borges didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rich Jeffress went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 64 minutes into the match, Sporting's Rich Jeffress sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jarbas Borges narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Duarte Faria was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sérgio Valério showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 68 minute of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 72nd minute, but Duarte Faria got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Sporting hanging dry this time. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valter Arruda got free with Duarte Faria in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Caeiro in the 79th minute of play forced Sporting's goalkeeper Duarte Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valter Arruda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Duarte Faria made a huge save. Abel Melo's late challenge caught a SC Derriada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abel Melo helped the player get up and apologised. Abel Melo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Rich Jeffress sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rich Jeffress fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Borges having to interfere. The SC Derriada players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
