Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hermes Perdigão started the match with the kick off. In the 9th minute, Hermes Perdigão made a precise shot to the right of João Faria. Ervedoso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. João Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermes Perdigão in the 13th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes Ervedoso got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Pinho. Arques's Hermes Perdigão got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermes Perdigão, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Adolfo Guimarães charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adolfo Guimarães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, Adolfo Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermes Perdigão in the 37th minute of play forced Ervedoso's goalkeeper João Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Hermes Perdigão took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Faria. João Faria dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Afonso Borges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Afonso Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Candeias having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Borges in the 53rd minute of play forced Arques's goalkeeper Marcelo Candeias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Faria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermes Perdigão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Ervedoso's goalkeeper João Faria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Carvalho. If Hermes Perdigão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Marcelo Candeias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arques's Marcelo Candeias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Borges in the 64th minute of play. Afonso Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Candeias having to interfere. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Arques's goalkeeper Marcelo Candeias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Sílvio Carvalho took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for João Faria to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Arques defense, Afonso Gueifão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Candeias. The Arques fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Candeias should have stopped the shot. If Sílvio Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 83 minutes, Hermes Perdigão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arques's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermes Perdigão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelo Candeias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Gueifão in the 90th minute of the match. After 91 minutes, Benedito Sacramento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arques and the Ervedoso players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Arques's Benedito Sacramento got a free kick in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Gueifão in the 93rd minute of play forced Arques's goalkeeper Marcelo Candeias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
