Abel Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonçalo Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Gaspar in the 7th minute of play. Abel Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonçalo Cruz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Abel Ribeiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gonçalo Cruz having to make a save. If Abel Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonçalo Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Ribeiro in the 23rd minute of play. Mário Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Leite having to interfere. A collision led to SC Castrelos getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Cristiano Rocha hit a great ball. After 34 minutes, Joaquim Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The wind increased when Mário Bessa made the kick off in the second half. Abel Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Cruz having to interfere. SC Castrelos's José Gaspar managed to work through Petigueiras's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. José Gaspar dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Abel Ribeiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gonçalo Cruz came out and tried to block the shot, but Abel Ribeiro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 58th minute. In the 68th minute, Vítor Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mário Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Joel Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Joaquim Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Vítor Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Leite was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. After 79 played minutes SC Castrelos got a freekick which was hit by João Figueiredo. It was beautiful to see Petigueiras's Adelino Leite in action when he in the 81st minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After 84 played minutes SC Castrelos got a freekick which was hit by João Figueiredo. Abel Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonçalo Cruz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After 90 played minutes Petigueiras got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Martins. SC Castrelos were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Petigueiras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bernardo Assunção took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Gaspar in the 97th minute of play forced Petigueiras's goalkeeper Gonçalo Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
