The referee ignored Temporao's protests and gave Herberto Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. Duarte Reis got in the 9th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Amável Ferrão handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Jorge Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Amável Ferrão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 30 minutes into the game, Malfrades FC's Jorge Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amável Ferrão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, Malfrades FC's Rafael Aguiar got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Amável Ferrão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Castro in the 34th minute of the match. A collision led to Malfrades FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Fernando Cardoso hit a great ball. Ademar Camargo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Amílcar Queirós made a huge save. Rafael Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Julião Morais kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Castro in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amável Ferrão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Ademar Camargo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Temporao's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademar Camargo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílcar Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Duarte Reis to strike the kick off in the second half. Temporao's Amável Ferrão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Temporao from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the match, Malfrades FC's Duarte Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amável Ferrão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Malfrades FC's Jorge Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Temporao's goalkeeper Amável Ferrão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Duarte Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Temporao's Estevão Fontes got a free kick in the 68th minute. Amável Ferrão acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Basílio Guerreiro. In the 73rd minute of the match, Jorge Castro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Amável Ferrão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience was convinced that Duarte Reis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amável Ferrão was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Jorge Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Duarte Reis struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Amável Ferrão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malfrades FC. In the 91st minute, Alfredo Leite made a precise shot to the right of Amílcar Queirós. Malfrades FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 96 minutes into the game, Duarte Reis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amável Ferrão. Duarte Reis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Malfrades FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
