After a rather tough play, VILACOBA CLUB DE FUTBOL's Almiro Póvoas got a free kick in the 4th minute. Alcino Assis kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Rui Torres struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Pedro Pinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VILACOBA CLUB DE FUTBOL. In the 22nd match minute, VILACOBA CLUB DE FUTBOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Castanheira to maneuver through the defense. A hard and well directed shot from Hélder Reis led 23 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. VILACOBA CLUB DE FUTBOL's Herberto Varanda became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-2. Rui Castanheira charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rui Castanheira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th match minute, VILACOBA CLUB DE FUTBOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Castanheira to maneuver through the defense. Herberto Varanda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Morais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, VILACOBA CLUB DE FUTBOL's Rui Torres ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Pinto. Pedro Pinto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. After the first half SC Ortigueira were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Morais to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, SC Ortigueira's goal looked a bit too open when Baltasar Onofre came free, but Pedro Pinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Humberto Anjos hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Pedro Pinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Torres in the 63rd minute of play. SC Ortigueira's Pedro Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltasar Onofre in the 64th minute of play. Herberto Varanda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Morais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Aragão hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After having played for 72 minutes, Nuno Morais managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Ortigueira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Morais was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute, Caio Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herberto Varanda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Morais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Nuno Morais got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedro Pinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltasar Onofre, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 95th minute, Joaquim Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Herberto Varanda was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Ortigueira walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
