In the 5th minute, Calheta F.C's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Raul Mota fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Júlio Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Pombeiras FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Garcia couldn't finish the play. Raul Mota succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 9th playminute. In the 14th minute, Raul Mota left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pombeiras FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Filinto Palma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The audience was convinced that Júlio Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filinto Palma was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. The supporters of Pombeiras FC booed when Calheta F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gentil Caires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calheta F.C's Filinto Palma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Garcia in the 31st minute of play. Gentil Caires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Pedro Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 42 played minutes Calheta F.C got a freekick which was hit by Renato Alves. A collision led to Calheta F.C getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Carlos Castro hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gentil Caires to strike the kick off in the second half. Mauro Espinosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gentil Caires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gentil Caires got his second yellow card in the match during the 59th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Gentil Caires hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Pombeiras FC's Simão Pinto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Pombeiras FC's Júlio Garcia in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Júlio Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Filinto Palma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlio Garcia succeeded in the game's 74th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. Calheta F.C's Filinto Palma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Valente in the 78th minute of play. Raul Mota might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filinto Palma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raul Mota ran back to his position shaking his head. Filinto Palma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute Júlio Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filinto Palma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Castro's late challenge caught a Calheta F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Castro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st minute, Fernando Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pombeiras FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
