Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Humberto Barbosa made the kick off which started today's match. Nuno Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Cardoso in the 4th minute of play. Nuno Magalhães acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 7th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pedro Bessa. Nuno Magalhães didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 12th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Bessa during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. SC Penina's Basílio Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gil Aleixo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th minute, Manuel Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Bessa hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Humberto Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. João Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 32 minutes, Gil Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Golpilhares's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gil Aleixo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Basílio Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the SC Penina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Teixeira couldn't finish the play. If Basílio Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gil Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in SC Penina's zone, Gil Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Magalhães came out of the goal and Gil Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basílio Alves's late challenge caught a SC Golpilhares's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basílio Alves helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Penina's Basílio Alves got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Humberto Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Sá having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gil Cardoso made a kick off. Nuno Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. João Sá didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Basílio Teixeira went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 65th minute, Manuel Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gil Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the game, Gil Cardoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Nuno Magalhães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When SC Golpilhares's Gil Cardoso in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Penina's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of SC Golpilhares booed when SC Penina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nuno Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Basílio Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute Humberto Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Marco Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, SC Penina's Diogo Azevedo got a free kick in the 87th minute. Adelino Ferro charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adelino Ferro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd minute, Adelino Ferro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nuno Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Aleixo in the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute Gil Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Penina players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Golpilhares.
