In the 4th minute of the game, Diogo Azevedo landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After a rather tough play, KID CUDI FC's Hermano Cavaco got a free kick in the 5th minute. KID CUDI FC's Cláudio Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save KID CUDI FC from getting a goal against them. Basílio Teixeira struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Cláudio Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Penina. In the 8th match minute, KID CUDI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Ferrão to maneuver through the defense. If Basílio Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When KID CUDI FC's Silvano Quintas in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Penina's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to SC Penina getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Manuel Macedo hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the match, Jaime Palhares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nuno Magalhães. SC Penina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Palhares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Silvano Quintas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nuno Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Quintas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Silvano Quintas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Nuno Magalhães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 42 played minutes SC Penina got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Macedo. Nuno Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Palhares in the 44th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Palhares in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nuno Magalhães saved SC Penina from getting behind. Heitor Maia charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heitor Maia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes SC Penina got a freekick which was hit by Heitor Maia.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Basílio Teixeira was the one to do the kick off. When Basílio Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the SC Penina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Teixeira couldn't finish the play. Heitor Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Carvalho having to interfere. Basílio Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, KID CUDI FC's Roberto Ferrão got a free kick in the 71st minute. Jaime Palhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Basílio Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jaime Palhares came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the KID CUDI FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Palhares couldn't finish the play. The KID CUDI FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
