The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Campanario FC's zone, Hermes Camacho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gervásio Azeredo came out of the goal and Hermes Camacho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Campanario FC's Gervásio Azeredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Martins in the 5th minute of play. Gervásio Azeredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Campanario FC's goalkeeper Gervásio Azeredo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Campanario FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Henrique Peralta 24 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. With his leg Gervásio Azeredo managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Carrico's Hermes Camacho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hermes Camacho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Gervásio Azeredo made a huge save. Jacob Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermes Camacho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervásio Azeredo having to interfere. Hermes Camacho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Gervásio Azeredo made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Graciano Quirino during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 played minutes Campanario FC got a freekick which was hit by Graciano Quirino. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Mário Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Campanario FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mário Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Quintas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mário Sousa to strike the kick off in the second half. After recieving a nice pass, Carrico's Germano Quintanilha tried to score from far away in the 58th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Gervásio Azeredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 67th minute Hermes Camacho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervásio Azeredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gervásio Azeredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Peralta in the 69th minute of the match. After 71 played minutes Campanario FC got a freekick which was hit by Graciano Quirino. Sérgio Coimbra kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Jacob Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervásio Azeredo having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacob Martins in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gervásio Azeredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Hermes Camacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carrico's Germano Quintanilha couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Campanario FC. After 95 played minutes Campanario FC got a freekick which was hit by Mário Sousa. 96 minutes into the match, Campanario FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Martins came free, but Gervásio Azeredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gervásio Azeredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermes Camacho in the 97th minute of the match.
