When Frederico Freire fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Regateiras's protests and gave Frederico Freire a yellow card for diving instead. Frederico Freire hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Espiunca FC's Paulo Vaz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 19th minute Viriato Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Bragança saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rui Lopes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, Rui Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the game, Ramiro Prates cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Afonso Campos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th match minute, Espiunca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Silva to maneuver through the defense. Rui Lopes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Donato Bragança came out and tried to block the shot, but Rui Lopes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 36th minute. Viriato Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Pedro Vale took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Donato Bragança to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Egídio Valadares to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, SC Regateiras's Egídio Valadares dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. If Egídio Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Rui Lopes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. In the 69th match minute, Espiunca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Lopes to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Laureano, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Jorge Peralta fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Regateiras's protests and gave Jorge Peralta a yellow card for diving instead. Jorge Peralta hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. The supporters of SC Regateiras booed when Espiunca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 81st minute of the match Frederico Freire completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Frederico Freire a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gil Silva hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Espiunca FC's Afonso Campos got control of the ball when Ramiro Prates tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Vale struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Donato Bragança didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espiunca FC. Ramiro Prates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Campos having to interfere. A collision led to Espiunca FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Paulo Vaz hit a great ball. Rodolfo Laureano shot from long distance in the 93rd minute, but Afonso Campos was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. When Espiunca FC's Pedro Vale in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Regateiras's goalie prevented a goal. In the 95th minute, Bruno Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
