Aldo Camargo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Hélder Silva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jaime Brás's late challenge caught a Paranhos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Paranhos FC booed when Apulia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Ferro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cláudio Cunha to make the kick off.
