Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Umbria's André Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Pimenta in the 3rd minute of play. Carlos Pinto's late challenge caught a Monfalim FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Pinto helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in SC Umbria's zone, Roberto Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Rodrigues came out of the goal and Roberto Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lúcio Maia kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Roberto Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. André Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Umbria's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jordão Pinho was slow to take the kick. During this time Monfalim FC's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the SC Umbria defense, Adélio Vieira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Rodrigues. The SC Umbria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Rodrigues should have stopped the shot. Rui Pedroso hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Monfalim FC's Roberto Pimenta got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roberto Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Adélio Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alberto Machado was the one to do the kick off. Maurício Estrada didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Machado went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 58 minutes into the match, SC Umbria's Vasco Esteves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maurício Estrada narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Roberto Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Monfalim FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Pimenta couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute, Vasco Esteves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Umbria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 67th minute, Vasco Esteves made a precise shot to the right of Maurício Estrada. Monfalim FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adélio Vieira in the 72nd minute of play forced SC Umbria's goalkeeper André Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Roberto Pimenta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. André Rodrigues was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. André Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adélio Vieira in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th play minute Roberto Pimenta came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised André Rodrigues. 3-3.
