In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Fogarosa's goalkeeper Manuel Fernandes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 15 minutes in the game, Severino Camargo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Manuel Fernandes having to interfere. Manuel Fernandes didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 21st minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Duarte Brás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Gastão Madruga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomás Neves in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gastão Madruga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. SC Fogarosa's Manuel Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Plácido Modesto in the 33rd minute of play. Gastão Madruga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36thth minute of the game Duarte Brás who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canaviais's Gastão Madruga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Canaviais's zone, Emanuel Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gastão Madruga came out of the goal and Emanuel Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The supporters of SC Fogarosa booed when Canaviais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermenegildo Manso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Fontes, 57 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Duarte Brás succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 60th playminute. Hermenegildo Manso hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute Severino Camargo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diamantino Velasques hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Gastão Madruga made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Duarte Brás sent off a good shot on target. Diamantino Velasques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Tomás Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gastão Madruga having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Neves in the 85th minute of play forced Canaviais's goalkeeper Gastão Madruga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Canaviais's Gastão Madruga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Neves in the 87th minute of play. Tomás Neves struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Gastão Madruga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Fogarosa. 94 minutes into the match, Canaviais's Severino Camargo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Fernandes narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
