Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Danilo Rocha started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Danilo Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SC Vinho's Gervásio Sacadura got a free kick in the 10th minute. When Danilo Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Académico do Porto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danilo Rocha couldn't finish the play. In the 13th match minute, SC Vinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Amorim to maneuver through the defense. António Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danilo Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaspar Leite read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Académico do Porto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Durães to maneuver through the defense. António Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Leite having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Palmiro Rijo got free with Elias Raposo in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Moura in the 27th minute of play forced SC Vinho's goalkeeper Gaspar Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Gervásio Sacadura shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elias Raposo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Olavo Gomes hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Elias Raposo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermenegildo Prates in the 35th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Hermenegildo Prates ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elias Raposo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 39 minutes into the match, Académico do Porto's goalkeeper Elias Raposo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Palmiro Rijo. Palmiro Rijo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Elias Raposo firmly grabbed it by the left post. Académico do Porto's Elias Raposo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermenegildo Prates in the 41st minute of play. Danilo Rocha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaspar Leite having to make a save. In the 46th match minute, SC Vinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adão Teves to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Danilo Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Danilo Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Académico do Porto's supporters rose to their feet, but Danilo Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaspar Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vicente Durães got free with Gaspar Leite in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Palmiro Rijo came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the SC Vinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Palmiro Rijo couldn't finish the play. Palmiro Rijo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Elias Raposo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute Danilo Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonçalo Corte-Real kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Danilo Rocha struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Gaspar Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Académico do Porto. 91 minutes into the game, Olavo Gomes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Académico do Porto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Vinho the free kick. After 92 played minutes Académico do Porto got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Gomes. Elias Raposo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Palmiro Rijo in the 94th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Palmiro Rijo notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Académico do Porto's Elias Raposo. Elias Raposo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Académico do Porto's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
