The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. JL FC's Tomé Vilanova played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Aires in the 3rd minute of play. If Abel Soveral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evandro Vigário recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abel Soveral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the SC Casais defense, Evandro Vigário kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Higino Guterres. The SC Casais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Higino Guterres should have stopped the shot. In the 17th minute Evandro Vigário shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higino Guterres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomé Vilanova made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio Aires in the 21st minute of play. Higino Guterres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Soveral, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Evandro Vigário sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Soveral in the 28th minute of play forced SC Casais's goalkeeper Higino Guterres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eurico Campelo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Higino Guterres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Soveral in the 33rd minute of play forced SC Casais's goalkeeper Higino Guterres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermínio Aires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Márcio Cunha's late challenge caught a SC Casais's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Márcio Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Evandro Vigário stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abel Soveral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Higino Guterres made a huge save. Evandro Vigário received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Higino Guterres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hermínio Aires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Soveral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Higino Guterres made a huge save. Tomé Vilanova made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Pinhal in the 86th minute of play. In the 87thth minute of the game Abel Soveral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Casais's Higino Guterres was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Higino Guterres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro Vigário, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgar Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Higino Guterres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Vigário in the 92nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Abel Soveral managed to get in a good position for a shot. JL FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Soveral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Higino Guterres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched JL FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
