The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Contumil's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santos came free, but Alfredo Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Eusébio Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Matos in the 19th minute of the match. After having played for 23 minutes, Carlos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cadavao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfredo Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Marques in the 38th minute of the match. Alfredo Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. A collision led to Contumil getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Joaquim Borba hit a great ball. After 45 played minutes, Cadavao's Rui Moniz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfredo Moura came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cadavao reached it. 46 minutes into the match, Contumil's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santos came free, but Alfredo Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Cadavao played a much better game than Contumil and deserved their victory. The Contumil players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
