The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the game, Amadeu Veiga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Pateo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Vasconha the free kick. In the 9th minute, Amadeu Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 11 minutes, Saúl Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Vasconha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saúl Miranda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Cristiano Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the SC Vasconha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Amaral couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saúl Miranda in the 21st minute of play forced SC Pateo's goalkeeper Artur Resende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isidoro Sesimbra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Guarda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the SC Vasconha defense, Diogo Esteves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidoro Sesimbra. The SC Vasconha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidoro Sesimbra should have stopped the shot. 44 minutes into the match, SC Pateo's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Amaral came free, but Artur Resende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Diogo Esteves made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristiano Amaral in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artur Resende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Guarda got free with Isidoro Sesimbra in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Catarino Teixeira fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Pateo's protests and gave Catarino Teixeira a yellow card for diving instead. After 57 played minutes SC Pateo got a freekick which was hit by Catarino Teixeira. Artur Resende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Fabiano Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Diogo Esteves struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Isidoro Sesimbra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Pateo. Artur Resende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Silvano Magalhães charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvano Magalhães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Vasconha's Silvano Magalhães got a free kick in the 77th minute. When SC Vasconha's Cristiano Amaral in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Pateo's goalie prevented a goal. Alexandre Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Catarino Mendonça during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Vasconha! Alexandre Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidoro Sesimbra having to interfere. The SC Vasconha supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Pateo's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Pateo.
