When Sebastião Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Meia Tola Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Sereia da Gelfa's zone, Leonel Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Martins came out of the goal and Leonel Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastião Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. António Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonel Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Martins having to interfere. Nuno Carneiro hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the match, Sereia da Gelfa's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Torres came free, but António Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 31st minute when Leonel Torres elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 39 minutes, Paulo Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sereia da Gelfa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute, Paulo Neto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Paulo Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sereia da Gelfa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Albertino Fernandes in the 45th minute. After taking down the ball on Sereia da Gelfa's corner Albertino Fernandes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yuri Carmona quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to Sereia da Gelfa getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Nuno Carneiro hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Meia Tola Futebol Clube's Leonel Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albertino Fernandes hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sereia da Gelfa's goalkeeper António Martins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Leonel Torres took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for António Martins to make any attempt to save it. Nuno Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yuri Carmona having to interfere.
