Fonterma FC's Juvenal Raposo got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vicente Ramos's late challenge caught a Fonterma FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Ramos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Barbudo's Vicente Ramos got a free kick in the 11th minute. Fonterma FC's Juvenal Raposo got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lucas Pires struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Paulino Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Barbudo. When David Jesus fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Barbudo's protests and gave David Jesus a yellow card for diving instead. David Jesus hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Juvenal Raposos short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Sérgio Lima to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Plácido Fontes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 30th minute. Fonterma FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauro Almeida got free with Sérgio Lima in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Pires in the 36th minute of play forced Fonterma FC's goalkeeper Paulino Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 played minutes, SC Barbudo's Amadeu Porto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulino Rodrigues came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Barbudo reached it. After 45 played minutes Fonterma FC got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Candeias. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Fonterma FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Plácido Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sérgio Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juvenal Raposo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Pedroso got free with Paulino Rodrigues in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Pedroso in the 70th minute of play forced Fonterma FC's goalkeeper Paulino Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of SC Barbudo booed when Fonterma FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Vilhena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Pires in the 78th minute of play forced Fonterma FC's goalkeeper Paulino Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas Pires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulino Rodrigues having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Fonterma FC had won after a very even match.
